Purbeck Folk Festival runs from 24th to 26th August and tickets are available now on their website. They're still to finalise all their artists, but it's bound to be a Festival you shouldn't miss..

Bournemouth Folk Festival is one of the early ones, running from 23rd to 24th March, so hurry up and get your tickets ordered. Looks like a great line up of artists.

The Village Pump Folk Festival. Offering fun for all types, and ages the Village Pump Folk Festival is held beneath the Westbury White Horse and will celebrate the best in Folk, Roots and Acoustic music, taking place from Friday 20th until Sunday 22nd July 2012, at the White Horse Country Park, in Wiltshire.

Wessex Acoustic Folk Club is based in Blandford at the Royal British Legion, Church Lane, Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 7AD. Friday nights at 8.15 pm.

Wessex Folk Festival is an annual festival of traditional and modern folk music, dance and song based in Weymouth, Dorset, UK. This blog aims to promote the festival and all the bands, musicians, singers, dancers, businesses and entertainers involved.

Swanage Folk Festival. Swanage is a small seaside resort on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset which comes alive with hundreds of Morris dancers in their bright costumes and jingling bells, and folk music lovers, every year for the weekend on the second Friday after the August Bank Holiday Monday.

The Association of Festival Organisers (AFO) is a membership group of like-minded festival and event managers who believe in learning and teaching, sharing and networking to continuously improve the festival scene. Created in 1987 with a small gathering of people working in the community festival business, it now has hundreds of members who regularly exchange ideas and support one another to help develop our sector.

The Allendale Community Centre is situated close to the centre of Wimborne next door to Allendale House alongside the river Allen and is easily accessible from Bournemouth or Poole. The Centre is the ideal venue for one-off or regular events or functions, with a number of different sized rooms available for hire on morning, afternoon or evening sessions.

Wickham Festival 2012. Fun for all the family Storytelling, street theatre, a cartoon cinema, Ticklish Allsorts, Punch & Judy, Face-Painting, a ‘Make ‘n’ Take’ crafts tent and a whole lot more – there will be plenty to keep the kids amused at this year’s Wickham Festival. Thursday 2nd to Sunday 4th August.

WaterAid's Big National Ceilidh. 13th October 2012. The Big National Ceilidh is a worldwide ceilidh or barn dance. The 2012 event will take place on Saturday 13 October. This unique event will unite the world in support of WaterAid as thousands of people across the globe dance to raise funds and awareness to make a difference to the lives of those living without safe water and sanitation.

Bromyard Folk Festival. The best folk festival/cultural event in the Welsh Border area - featuring over 170 hours of entertainment in just one weekend of traditional music, song and dance. This year's folk festival will be 7th/8th/9th September 2012.

Shrewsbury Folk Festival (24th-27th August 2012) has a reputation for delivering the very finest acts from the UK and around the world, always searching to find new authentic artists as well as providing a platform for established performers, and never forgetting to add some fun and diversity to our concerts.

Chippenham Folk Festival. 1st-4th June 2012. Chippenham Folk Festival is now in its 41st successful year. Although it has seen many changes since its beginnings in Lacock all those years ago, it still retains its 'village' atmosphere, providing three and a half days packed with song, dance, workshops and dance displays.

The Morris Federation. The Morris Federation is a United Kingdom association of self-governing Morris clubs, which aims to:

a) encourage and maintain interest in the practice of morris dancing by women and men of all ages

b) provide a channel of communication between member sides

c) encourage the improvement of standards of dancing among its members.

Gugge 2000. Gugge 2000 was formed over 10 years ago in November 1998, by Dave Brewer (still our Musical Director) & other former members of bands from the Bournemouth area. They wanted to make people listen, tap their feet and join in. See more on our Dance Sides page.
